Family Sessions

IMG_2051.jpg

I strive to capture the uniqueness of each and every family! Each family member has a special personality and ideas, and I love the family dynamics when everyone gets together to have a good time. The best family photos are the ones from the really great days spent together.  That is exactly what I want to create with you and your family!

What to Wear?

-         Be Comfortable.  You are too awesome to be held down by uncomfortable clothes.  And, we’ll be moving around, standing, walking, sitting, so wear something that makes you happy and doesn’t constrict you from having fun.

-         You don’t need to match, but more like ‘coordinate’.  Wearing clothes that are the same level of dressiness is really as much as you need to match. You guys already look like a family. Don't damper each member’s individuality by forcing them to match.  Most people look their best in certain colors.  Although, black tends to be a tough color for photographs. Pick a color tone or palette (maybe select 3-4 colors) and go from there. Pinterest has some great palette ideas for family photos if you need some ideas.  Accessorize! Scarves, hats, costume jewelry, these things fancy up outfits so you can look your best.

-         Moms, play up your assets! Wear that skirt, if you got them nice long legs! If you have an area of insecurity, think about how you can minimize that with your outfit choice or accessories, like jackets, cardigans, scarves, etc. If you have insecurities that you want to share with me - please do it beforehand.  But let’s try to leave it out of the session and get that out of the way beforehand, so it doesn't bring us down on session day.

-         Dads, there is nothing more charming than an amazing father and husband. I’m sure you were thoroughly persuaded to do this session in the first place! I'm so excited that you're participating. I’d like you to know, today isn't about smiling and posing; it's about having a fun day with your family.  And, I haven’t yet met a dad who doesn't break a rule or two in the name of family fun.  The most important thing you can wear to picture day is a good attitude.  If you've got a favorite hat, belt, or pair of boots or something that you really love – We will find a way to make it work.
